Dr. Rick Barrows graduated from Texas Chiropractic College in May of 1983. He became licensed to practice in Texas, and went right to work in his father’s practice in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Barrows owes much to what he learned after graduation in the real world of practice alongside his father. As they practiced together, he gleaned all that he could from his father’s wealth of experience, which was gathered in nearly 40 years of practice.
One thing that Dr. Barrows did not learn in Chiropractic College, nor from his father for that matter, was how to run a chiropractic practice from a business perspective. This education he owes to a company called Affordable Management and Consulting, or AMC.
AMC made such a profound difference in his practice and in his life that in addition to practicing chiropractic, Dr. Barrows has dedicated himself to coaching and teaching other chiropractors what he has learned. He now serves as director of AMC Southwest, which oversees the AMC family members of New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
Dr. Barrows resides in San Antonio, Texas with his wife Rose. He is an active member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church where he serves in numerous ministries. He most enjoys his service as a vocalist at the contemporary service, which meets on Saturday evenings and is called Prime Time Praise. His service to mankind is through his primary calling, which is to serve God by serving humanity through the healing art of chiropractic.
